A NEW ERA OF FASHION
The fashion industry’s legacy business model is facing new technologies, manufacturing processes, modes of consumption, and demand for sustainability, all at once. The sweeping changes create challenges and opportunities across the entire fashion ecosystem.
Aesthetic Ventures began with a bold mission to be a catalyst for change in the fashion industry by establishing a collection of essential business services for fashion founders in the earliest stages of development. Though promising, our model didn’t work. We didn’t have the time and resources to create a true product-market fit amidst the pivots we needed to make throughout our experimentation to design a new model.
In business, you’re more likely to fail than succeed. We were no different. Lessons were learned, but one thing remains true.
In my TEDX talk, I spoke about the need to recognize and utilize the inherent humanity that exists within businesses and our economy to actually reflect the full spectrum of what’s possible. Innovation is always human.
As an industry that touches every human life, fashion holds a unique responsibility to inspire, design and create a global system that is technologically innovative, environmentally regenerative and socially empowering.
For now, Aesthetic Ventures remains here as a call to action for entrepreneurs, designers, researchers, and innovators around the world to re-design an industry and creative economy that is more dynamic, diverse, empowering and regenerative.
